Britney Spears says that since her breakdown, her life has been worse than a jail sentence – but that she's slowly healing one day at a time.
"I have really good days, and then I have bad days," the singer, 26, admits in a new fly-on-the wall, 90-minute documentary, Britney: For The Record, to air in the U.S. Nov. 30 on MTV and in the U.K. Dec. 1 on Sky1.
Struggling to gain control of her life again after her public meltdown earlier this year, she says candidly: "Even when you go to jail, y'know, there's the time when you're gonna get out. But in this situation, it's never ending. It's just like [the Bill Murray movie] Groundhog Day."
She adds, "I'm having to pay for it for a really long time."
Spears was hospitalized for mental evaluation in January, which resulted in her ex-husband, Kevin Federline, being granted sole custody of their sons, Preston and Jayden. Her father, Jamie Spears, also gained legal control over her affairs.
Not Being Heard "If I wasn't under the restraints that I'm under right now, I'd feel so liberated," she says in the film, which follows the singer as she records and promotes her new album Circus. "When I tell them the way I feel, it's like they hear me, but they're really not listening."
A camera crew followed the singer for three months as she moved to pull her life back on track. "I wanted to make this film because I started to feel like I wasn't being seen in the light that I wanted to be seen in," Spears said. "This is an opportunity to set the record straight and talk about what I've been through and where I'm headed."
Overall, she says, "I think I've learned my lesson now, and enough is enough."
Madonna to Britney: "Marriage doesn't work for girls like us"
Madonna has told Britney Spears not to marry again.
Spears - who divorced husband Kevin Federline in 2006 - reportedly sought advice from the Material Girl singer after performing with her recently, and on the subject of men, Madonna - who recently annouced she would be divorcing husband Guy Ritchie - left no question about what she thought best for both of them.
A source says, "Britney asked Madonna if she will ever marry again after her split from Guy.
"Madonna not only said she wouldn't but told Britney to forget about marriage. She said it just doesn't work for girls like them.
"Madonna clearly sees a lot of herself in Britney because she seems very eager to help her."
I don't really think it's that hot. It's okay. But not amazing. I'm glad it didn't end up on the finished album. Don't know where it's from. I found it on Exhale.
First and foremost thank you for voting about what you think I should do with the layout. My conclusion is that we should def. have a new layout very soon so I will begin working on something new to make the site even better. Stay tuned for more!
MTV has been showing a lot of teasers today regarding the upcoming mtv program Britney: For the record. Rumor: Britney to perform on New Year's Eve in Vegas
Mastermind manager Larry Rudolph always told me that the royal return he was engineering for pop superstar Britney Spears would be “the biggest and best comeback in showbiz history.”
He’s within 30 days of seeing that promise come true: He is in the midst of carefully executing his top secret plan, and Vegas has a mighty lot to do with it! Here’s what I’ve learned so far since the rumor mill went into heavy overdrive:
- Negotiations are going down to the wire for Britney to appear on the Strip on New Year’s Eve with a special two-song performance on network television -- and she’ll co-host part of the year’s retrospective in music segment.
- Her new album, "Circus," will be released on her birthday, Dec. 2.
- Britney herself will soon announce a new world Circus tour, with tickets going on sale in early December.
- The pop princess has confided that she’s hiring three new male backup dancers to add to her current crew specifically for the tour.
Wednesday morning, Britney herself posted photos and details of the upcoming projects on her Web site, britneyspears.com. She even says the talent she found among the 70 dancers trying out for her and manager Larry Rudolph was “amazing.”
By the way, that’s guru Larry in the white T-shirt and baseball cap sitting right alongside her! He’s a Vegas regular and always stays at George Maloof’s Palms, where he is a partner in the Sunset Tan salon in the new Palms Place condo tower.
Brand new and leaked photos from Britney's shoot for her upcoming album Circus. Spears is dressed very circus like and is looking fab. Click the pic to see the rest of the set.
